/lby Yo_SpiffComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Super shot with a great title! I really like the composition with the bilateral negative space. I like the way the light catches the glasses too. The stance of your subject and how it mirrors the lighting / shadow is a nice touch.
Critical stuff: Nothing really.
Overall: A very effective image. I like it. |

The Blue Roomby JohannesFrankComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Utterly wonderful coloration and light. I don't know how you've managed to boost the tonal contrast whilst maintaining a diffused look but it really, really works. I'd love to see your workflow on this one. The room and the way you've composed the shot makes for a masterful image.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: Lovely stuff. |

Fallenby 4trtoneComment: This is really good - this sort of watery skyish landscape image wouldn't normally push my buttons but somehow this one has something special. Great balance to the image I think. |

soliloquyby ubiqueComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I really like this, the sharp shaft of light, the shadows and the moving figure all hangs together really well. Very Nixtery - a good thing. What impresses me most, is the way you've balanced the image so well, great composition, just the right amount of blur, just the right amount of vignette.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: Very strong work. |

Unfashionableby KorribanComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: An interesting combination of objects to be sure and the vibrant coloration works well for the subject matter.
Critical stuff: I think the lighting is rather harsh, leading to some blown highlights. The overall composition and subject mater confuses me a little.
Overall: Interesting, but I confess I don't really get it. |

transition arena, soft geometry by rooumComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: An interesting abstract to be sure - More piece of art than photograph - no bad thing. I like the coloration (reminiscent of a clive_patric_nolan image) - the yellow / bleeding to black looks like the end of an exposed or burnt piece of film.
Critical stuff: I imagine you'll get hammered for its lack of photographicness.
Overall: I'd have it on my wall. |
