Stunning colors and clarity, emphasized by the mist obscuring the background. Beautiful subject matter. Interesting decision to leave in the pavement--even countryside these days has roads it seems. I like the contrast between that modern amenity and the idyllic history of the barn and farm.

Feels very dreary, but that is a story too, isn't it? I like the composition and the decision to emphasize the texture of everything with the editing -- even the clouds look rough and tired, like living on the edge of modernity truly is the hard life.

I love the subject matter and the pops of practically neon green--I wish the angle were a little more out-of-the-box, this feels pretty traditional to me and I think the smallness of the toys could be highlighted better (or perhaps they could have been made to feel large with a lower angle, which would be more unique).

I understand that it's his little frown that is the point of this shot, but I find myself staring at his eyes in any case and wishing they were a bit sharper (or perhaps not included in the crop?). I love his snotty little whiskers, what a cutie.

The Girl

While there is a clear subject here, the girl, both because she is the only human in the shot and it's the title of the photo, I don't feel like the character gets to shine here. The dress looks as though it's caught on the fence and there is nothing that helps the character to stand out against the background of the barn -- I think greater DOF or alternate lighting could help her really pop. Love the idea of it.

Now this is how you photograph the sun in the countryside! Very beautiful image, evokes emotion and tells a story. The scope feels right, the composition is lovely, there is not too much land and the sky is allowed to reign. Sharp and clear as well. Excellent.

YELLOW! I tend to be fairly partial to square crops, but I feel in this one that it takes away from the expanse of the rural countryside, which are in part appealing (at least, to me) because they are so much more vast than the visually cramped city. Love the sheep and the colors.
