Incoming!by BuddyBaumComment: Okay, there's a lot going on here, some of it good and some of it not so good. I love the way the yellow pops, it's nice and saturate, and I like how many insects are included, it makes for a great scene. The background is a little busy, lots of lines going everywhere and although the bee is in focus, the flowers, which are bright and the first thing the eye tries to focus on, see to be oof enough to be distracting. I also think that the green leaf that extends right up from the bottom of the frame is distracting. |

a rose always works. by MiepComment: I think the subject of this photo is a person rather than the plant and so I have a hard time seeing this meet the spirit of the challenge, but there is some flora included, so I won't comment with DNMC. I think I'd like this better if the man weren't looking right into the camera, as I feel like the girl is the subject but his eyes take away from her beauty. A shallower DOF would fix this or a different expression/pose. I like that the color of the flower matches the dress so well. |

Carotenoidsby goinskiingComment: Very excellent use of lighting here, I love the autumnal coloring but the darkness of the silhouettes of the veins. Really great composition as well. |

Cradled by bruskiComment: Elegant and beautiful. The red pops really nicely and it's a really nice bloom. I could see this on a Hallmark card. |

Carved treeby mitalapoComment: Very unique subject, pp and shot altogether. I think the black dots across the horizon are a bit distracting, but I'm looking forward to reading more about how you took/processed this. Great coloring. |

Unfurling Frond by millsaComment: Okay, I just wrote this and it got deleted, so here's the short version: Great photo. Love the dof and the way the back frond kind of mirrors the front frond. Colors and lighting are great. Great lines, everything is very feminine. |

The illusionby PrashComment: All the colors here seem so pale, I think this would really pop more with stronger saturation. |

Perspectiveby maxxumgComment: Nice square frame, great tilt shot. Wonderful use of dof control, the flower and gravel have great texture and the color pops against the background. |
