Broad back and thick hairby KrisbyComment: This view is a bit too close to the subject, feels a bit cramped. The highlights are too bright on one shoulder and her upper face as well, plus the focus could be sharper. It's a bit noisy overall. This shot would have been helped by moving further away from her, either lowering the ISO to eradicate that white-out skin glare or upping the shutter for the same reason (which could have also helped with the focus) and denoising a little once the image was transfered to your computer. |

Chilly Beach, A Warm Smileby dahlinComment: I'd have liked this better after a little denoising and a straightening of that horizon line but it's nice and sharp, plus very cute. Love the owl hat! |

The Winner by a Noseby kiwinickComment: Beautiful Cavalier and in nice focus, although I don't see a connection to this challenge in either the title or the shot itself. |

Always Good To Other Peopleby thomasjessenComment: While I don't feel this image portrays what the title says about her, it's a very pretty portrait, nice focus on her face and an almost tender smile. I'd have actually been inclined to call this entry 'Tender' as I could see the connection there. |

The Sailor's Handby Bear_MusicComment: I don't care for the soft haziness around the fingers, or the square crop (personal taste) but the shot is in nice focus, it shows interesting skin patterns and textures, very characteristic of a man who has worked with his hands for a long time. |

Lighting up the Room with my Smileby giantmikeComment: What a wickedly brilliant expression, haha. Nice focus, very cute; the wee red blemish by his eyebrow kinds of draws my attention, I might have cloned that out. |

Ocean Eyesby ShawnaReneeComment: Not really feeling the colour popping here (just personal preference, I don't care for selectively coloured eye images) but my main issue with this is the dark shadow under her nose; it's not flattering on her and totally grabs my eye. |

My Redheadby vawendyComment: Simple and classic, a very nice portrait. The colour of her hair really stands out, as does the green in her eyes, although the whites of the eyes look a little over-whitened. One other little niggle would be that her necklace has turned around and is only showing the clip. |

Lipsby FocusPointComment: The lighting has caused the line of the left side of her nose to almost disappear and blend into her face which is a shame, as otherwise this is a really pretty portrait with nice focus on the bold lips (looks like a proper make-up artist might have been at work here?) Since this is an advanced editing challenge, I'd have suggested you burned back in the nose line very delicately. |
