Brothersby NeatComment: This image almost looks like it has some sort of filter over it(?) as the blown highlights on the rocks and the bigger boys' arm from the sun look a bit strange. I'm not keen on the dull yellow hue on this image, I think it would've looked nice in proper colour, especially since the boys are well co-ordinated in blue. It certainly meets the challenge, a nice collection of cheerful brothers; could be sharper overall. |

Leaving the nestby talzamComment: Every parent has this type of moment so this shot is relatable, nice focus on the two of them and I like the backlighting. That pigeon is a wee bit distracting but not overly so. Would've liked the shot to be a bit sharper overall. |

Generationsby karmatComment: The shot feels a little bit cramped; the young girl doesn't look entirely comfortable which enhances the cramped feeling (like she knows the camera is there and feels a wee bit nervous or posey.) I think if the shot were taken (or cropped, whichever) further out, it might have helped. It's a nice scene nonetheless, exposure in the sun is Ok, I like their matching clothing colours. |

Family at Workby TrompieComment: Always nice to see a different take on a challenge that still meets the challenge in question. Nice bold colouring on the little guys, good DOF; the bokeh is a little noisy, I'd have done a slight denoise on the image. Could be a little sharper. |

Farmvilleby mrbig65Comment: I don't see the familial connection? Those thick bits of cord wire on the fence are quite distracting (especially the red one), I'd rather this had been taken from a point where they weren't as visible. Wee bit of noise on the image, a very low denoise would have helped. Funny title. |

Broadway Babyby tvsometimeComment: I'm not personally a fan of image grain at all, or square crops. It's a nice moment and despite the heavy grain it looks like the focus is Ok, as is the exposure. The bokehd background is good as it stops what looks like a really busy setting being too intrusive. Overall, not bad, it's just a personal preference of mine that a non-square ratio and clear, non-noisy image is more aesthetically pleasing. |

Sunday afternoon by MelethiaComment: This is a nice shot, it's taken from a good angle, well-exposed and in good focus. However, I feel the girl on the bike is the main focus of the shot and I'd have liked the focus to be mainly on one of the families, for example the woman on the right holding the baby, or the crouching person with the buggy and older child. That said, it's quite a nice collection of characters anyway. |

The Gansah Mishpucheh by tangueraComment: There's a bit too much going on in this shot, makes it a bit busy, so many faces to look at and in a cluttered setting. One corner of the table being visible at the front makes me wish the shot was rotated very slightly to the left to make the horizon even. The exposure/light is good, some amusing faces, mostly good focus and it does portray family, overall a pretty cool shot; just a bit too much happening in it for me. |

Open Wideby kiwinickComment: A cute shot of a child with the family pet. Pretty good exposure in the sunlight. Nice colours, that dog is beautiful! The horizon is slanted a little bit, I think this would have benefitted from a wee rotation to the right. |

Tea for twoby mcaldoComment: This strikes me as very sad; the child looks unhappy, coupled with the low light and shadows it makes me think this is meant to portray lost family? The photograph of the woman with a plate in front of her is poignant and puts me in mind that this child has lost their mother and is still trying to involve her in the tea party. Whether this was the intent or not, it makes for quite a moving scene. Technically the image is a bit noisy (most noticeable on the wall) but I like it. |
