Nice one! The trees could be a bit sharper, and I find your frame unduly heavy. Some cropping from the right, perhaps? And how about placing that flash just a bit further to the right...;)

Nice! Blue and grey indeed. The perspective is interesting. I'm not sure your frame works, though. Assuming you have a wide black bar on top as well, that doesn't hurt, it may in fact add to the vastness, but the bar below is disturbing. A long while I thought it was the shore, and was about to suggest a crop, until I realised that it is far too straight for that.

The sky doesn't offer much drama here, so the silhouettes of the barn and the woods serve a purpose. The light paint takes it from bland to original. It almost gets a "Scary Movie"- like effect. I had a similar idea, before going for Partners instead, so I'll throw in an extra sympathy point...
