ghost dogby BrennanOBComment: Bizarre, but cool. A dog like that just reminds me of royalty or something, of cleanliness, not squalor, at any rate. One of my faves from this challenge. Hope his paws were alright!
Also, great location. |

Green ballby romeolineComment: Like the shot, not the border. Too strong, it pulls me from the image. |

Lost Walletby HawkinsTComment: Curious how many will miss the wallet due to improperly calibrated monitors and lack of attention. Very nice; easily one of the best in the challenge. |

I think that's the best way to pull the trees out of the back, making them this weird alien object in the photo. It's awesome to me how the frame split came up where it did on this one. |

R1-02989-0000by Eagle40Fox2Comment: Crazy how the snow covered foliage on this looks nothing like what it was. It's interesting for me to go through and know what I was shooting for them, since they are all sorta lurking below the surface and rather indistinct (which is compounded by the spacing). |

if memory serves...by FourPointXComment: I kept forgetting to come and comment on this, Joe.
A very different take on things, I like the novelty. The centered composition works well, as does the black background. You've done a really good job arranging things, which sounds like a minor success but is really much more difficult to achieve than most think. Usually set-up shots look very manufactured and distinctly "wrong," but this looks very natural.
In regards to what others have said about the lighting, did you consider putting your camera on a tripod and using a longer exposure? Stop down to perhaps F7.1 or so and drop your ISO a little bit maybe, and then use a flashlight to light paint the scene? This will eliminate the harshness that was noted in the comments, and keep your shadows from being so directional, with more of an even soft light. Just sorta trial and error things, evenly "painting" the entire plate. I don't recall if your camera has RAW, but if so, shoot in raw and adjust your white balance after the fact. If not, do some experiements seeing which setting turns out the best result and use that (but don't use auto as you'll get variation). It may also have a custom setting, in which case you can set that, as well. Message edited by author 2011-04-16 23:30:31. |

Realby colorcarnivalComment: Very nice Michelle. I hadn't picked this one out as yours, but it is a pleasing photo. The coloring gives it a decidedly nostalgic feel, and the crispness alongside the blur is welcomed. |

Creationby jmritzComment: I really liked this also because it worked on multiple levels for me. One of the other ways it worked for me is that you titled it creation, and it says created for you. Both were created just for us- the wrapper for you, the photo for us. The manufactured world... |
