Nations Will Fall... Heroes Will Riseby toddheadComment: I feel like this could've been made much more interesting visually and with some more variety. At the very lest, using a different eye and changing how the two of you looked a bit would have helped things. For having uniforms etc, I expected a bit more, myself. |

Faith by gyabanComment: I looked at the thumbnails before looking individually, and I didn't see one that outright said Christophe. After progressing through voting and coming upon this, I'm pretty sure this is yours. I say that neutrally, but the bleakness of message leads me to believe I'm right, along with the great editing.
Very interesting shot. The angle of the beams through the lower windows doesn't match those of the upper windows, but this is minor, and the shot is very well composed and edited. Very, very nice. |

Zombie Apocalypseby Samantha_TComment: A decent use of expert editing, but your light source is inconsistent throughout the scene. It's also odd to have a 25mph speed limit on what is obviously a freeway/highway, and the zombie on the overpass is very out of proportion.
Vision is very good, editing is pretty good, clean up the minutiae and you have a winner. |

No Warningby bobnospumComment: I'm guessing this is some sort of sporting event? It would be awesome to see some crisp detail in the raindrops and individuals. Expert isn't needed here, and perhaps you were limited by ISO performance, but I'd bump it by a stop at least. Good potential. |

Ballby colorcarnivalComment: Awwwwww Didn't vote, but what a great pet photo. Does an excellent job of summing a cat's place existence within our lives. Very nice.
At least it still made profile :) |

Gastropodia Tropicaliaby CoryComment: AHA! So this is what started your thirst!
I actually find using a flash with my P&S very rewarding and fun, and do it pretty often, actually.
Great shot though- love the colors of the snail in particular, and the angling of the light works great for accentuating the swirl of the shell. |

Good Morning, Sunshineby colorcarnivalComment: I would've voted it a 5. It's not a bad photo, but I think the DPC crowd is just overwhelmed with crazy good wildlife/nature photos. It's REALLY hard to enter one and get much of anything. I consider any nature type shot I can pull over a 6 to be a pretty big success in DPC land.
Now, you don't always need to have exotic animals, but you DO need to have them in a dynamic and unusual way. The more ordinary your object the more you need to remove it from that ordinary-ness that the voter feels. For this, making the bird more prominent in the frame, either alighting or landing, looking at the camera, showing intensity, that sort of thing, will go a long way.
As a personal thing, I normally try to keep my nature/wildlife shots devoid of the non-natural unless I'm using it as a part of the statement of the photo. The reason I do this is because people have this idea with wildlife that there is still this pristine world that is untouched, and they react more to this romanticized vision than if you didn't take that approach.
I did find it amusing, but you have to make humor a stronger focus if you're trying to garner votes from it. |

Rallyby colorcarnivalComment: I think I like the hands being included, as well. Was this the one that was doing so well in voting or do you have another great one brewing? |
