Bull Elkby sfmorrisComment: Great elk shot. The sepia works quite well here, as well. Good eye contact from the subject, which adds to the impact. A Hahn shot? (not voting, fellow entrant) |

Sis...I lost your balloonby philupComment: Sweet take on the challenge. The negative space really helps the idea of the balloon disappearing into the void. (not voting, fellow entrant) |

Pink Umbrellaby hotpastaComment: Things feel a little soft, but what's hindering things more for me is the red light from the umbrella. Just makes me feel like I'm in a dance club or something. (not voting, fellow entrant) |

cassie9027by Love6Comment: I love the expression, the pose, and the leaves raining down. This is just a great kid's shot, and captures the essence of the moment excellently. The only thing I'd like to add is a bit more light to give us a sense of the environment... a bit more of us seeing the ambient would really improve things. But still, I really love what you've captured. |

backsideby Love6Comment: Firstly, I'd like to commend whoever's derrier this is, because it takes chutzpah to put it up online, and it is a very nice rump.
Secondly, I'd say that it would be great if the lighting was shifted a bit back, because I think the bum defines the image and is also more pleasing to look at. If there are worries of depicting the actual "crack" I would say you should angle your light down and away from the subject so that the crack is still obscured, yet still focusing on the butt.
Regardless, I think this is a good photo as it is. |

Foot Bridge to the Falls P&S versionby LeoComment: Ha, yeah, definitely a lot bigger than the ones I generally see around here.
That's more like the ones I see around here. The biggest difference seems to be that they are rarely straight drops (that I've seen), they always cascade down stones.
I remember how awesome it was the first time I went and saw a waterfall like the one in your shot- I saw Wallace Falls outside of Seattle.
Wallace Falls FWIW, that picture they have really doesn't do much for the scene. Message edited by author 2010-11-08 22:39:09. |

Nov 08 - Busyby hajekaComment: Man, how many ferries are there cruising around there? And is that a solitary wind generator all by itself?
Visually, I keep getting drawn to the opposing cranes between the two boats.
I'd much rather have your commute than mine, which is 45 minutes of driving through rush hour traffic. Not nearly so relaxing... |

DSCF0054by gadionComment: I really like the arches on the sides. They sorta pick me up off the floor, take me to the ceiling and drop me back down towards the crucifix. Interesting architecture. |

Foot Bridge to the Falls P&S versionby LeoComment: You can definitely see the difference in dynamic range with this side by side. That's one thing I've noticed with the LX3, that the difference isn't as huge as I've seen with other cameras.
Beautiful scene, though I'm curious how much higher up the falls descend from. I've always had a softspot for waterfalls, and there aren't all that many here, or at least they aren't of the sort that you have where you are. That and the verdant growth, making everything fuzzy with green. |
