Mother and Daughter (Reluctant models)by geewhyComment: I'm sure thsi captures the essence of morther and daughter and it makes an "arty" study. I suspect that the way the light has caught the daughter's face produces a distortion of her face shape; her left cheek needs less light (in the bottom right hand, to us, corner) to provide balance. |

Josh and Melissaby boyte1Comment: A very sympathetic double portrait - nice expresions from both subjects. The play of black on black works well, with just enough light to show up the black tops. Perhaps the white balance is a bit towards red but it makes for a very warm feeling. |

Sunny Day in Marchby PDavisComment: A mix of available light and another source - maybe not but the effect of the burnishing on the ahi is nice. The absence of shadows is good, as is the control of DoF. Maybe a crop from the left to the shoulder would work too? |

My Cameliaby mariomelComment: Very pretty and a nicely tilted pose. I would have cropped to square but that is personal taste and perhaps moved further away from the wall to blur it even more. The light for below left is perhaps just a little strong but this is a very pleasing photo. |

So much to learn.by dickwilhelmComment: Very sweet! My wife says it isn't fair - children always look so good! We do like this portrait, it is very appealing, with soft gentle colouring, lighting and focus. Our compliments. |

Gazingby moviemanComment: Another letterbox aspect ratio - not sure about that. Interesting horizontal bar of light, emphasising hand and eyes. Think I might have tried to move the checked materail (curtain?) which distracts slightly. |

It`s rainingby Geo_GriffinComment: This is a lovely photo, definitely one to keep for the family album. Nicely lit, I guess with available light, butt still highlighting the hair which adds some movement to the picture. Slightly shallower DoF might have reduced the background more but it doesn't matter. very nice. |

Puzzled!by RtwoComment: Yes, I'm puzzled - can't work it out - why two images? The portrait itself, inside the monitors, is quite good, especially the one on our left. |

sonny portraitby jbruno1397Comment: Very sweet - nice use of noise to soften the image further - low contrast too to emphasise the message. |

Shamrock Cupidby crabappl3Comment: What a great idea - great subject! The lighting and focus are good but , for me,the frame keeps taking my eye away from the subject. Pity, because otherwise this is a great submission. |
