Pin-Upsby citymarsComment: I love this shot - had it not been for a free study it would probably have scored much better. It's a really nice composition and the colours are different...not overly bright but still very appealing, plus a nice balance of colours across the shot. Lovely. |

Days End On The Bendby BrianRComment: The colours have been pushed too far for my liking - so my knee jerk reaction was dislike, but the longer I look at it the more it grows on me. I can't put my finger on it...it looks so 'colour by numbers' but it works as a piece, moreso than most of the other more digital art that occasionally pops up. I'd have this on my wall, and that's my acid test to see if I really like an image. |

Sunset over the Jamesby ktyocumComment: I know there's HDR-fever at the moment but this shot would probably have been amazing with the silhoutted tones all filled in. Nonetheless it's a lovely shot. |

Bridgeby NuzzerComment: The line of the bridge is beautiful, as are the colours which are done enough to make it look really juicy but not unnatural and overprocessed...nicely done. |

Dark Waterby RulerZigzagComment: Stunning - it's the sharp reflections of the grasses in the water that take this from being really nice to great imho. Also one of those shots where a clear sky really works in a very simple but beautiful composition. |

Overflowby BrinComment: I love this shot. Feels like another I've seen recently but this really stands out for the lighting (and any tone mapping you've done is beautifully subtle). Everything is pin sharp and there's lovely balance between the silhouetted trees with the sunset backlit mound. The water quality is perfect with interesting shapes formed by the falling water and misty loveliness underneath (which again is a lovely balance with the glass-like upper part). Ribbon or a top 10...else I'll personally start a witchhunt ;) |

Frosty Flowby StructorComment: Go Iceland! This feels a lot like Larus' recent Moonlight Sonata from the post production and water quality. I'm only 16% of the way through all the images from this challenge but this is a ribbon candidate in my book - the placement of the river at thirds, the bluish misty tones of the water, the monotonality (is that even a word?!) of the snow and the mountainside and then the glorious clear starry sky. If a landscape shot can be minimalist I think this is it - awesome. |
