It's a pity someone did almost this same shot. I opined there that a different background or a brass tone to the clock would have made the ringing more obvious, but you have a similar problem -- darker background for this one might have made it stand out more. Anyhow, it IS on topic, and it's a nice shot, very clean, but the clapper is a little TOO blurry -- maybe a slightly shorter exposure time?

Hmm, even with the title I'm not sure I understand what this is supposed to be -- ice cracking is my best guess, in which case it's on topic, but as it's somewhat unclear and a little abstract it's hard to get a good feel for it.

Good drum capture. Slightly strange to see all those people with no heads (you could probably make a horror story out of that if you were so inclined (but that's probably just the sleep dep talking)), but the focus should be on the drums, so it makes sense. Evokes the challenge well. It's maybe a little too busy, but I'm not sure what you could have done to lessen that impression.

Wow, another phonograph, and this time REALLY a phonograph, old-style. I have a soft place in my heart for vinyl, being I still have an extensive collection of it, so it very strongly evokes 'sound' for me. I like the toning on it, giving it that nice old-photo feel, which alas goes well with the subject.

Mmm. Mmm. Mmm. This is the sound of indecision.

The dancers caught my eye first, and while that implies sound to some extent, it doesn't initially jump out as a sound photo. A closer focus on the percussionists might have helped with this. I also am not sure I like teh way the bottom dancer is cut off; a different angle might have helped with the challenge-meeting aspect in general.

That having been said, aside from not caring for the dancer position entirely, I think this is a fairly good action shot.

The slight angle and the bright lighting help make this an interesting shot even though the topic is obviously not totally original. The position of fingers helps with the active 'sound' presentation, too. Kinda looks like my Casio (hey, give that back!).

Wow. Roller coasters scare the heck out of me, so I definitely can hear the screams. And the yellow against the nice, clear sky is a great contrast. Good composition; I almost feel I can see the coaster moving.

Whistles

Very bright, very symmetrical (but not so much so that it's boring), good composition. However, whistles not being blown do less to evoke sound for me than something actively producing sound would, so while it does fit the challenge it doesn't do so as intently as I prefer.

Okay, that is just COOL, and I want to know how you did it.

There's a bit of a weird reflection that doesn't look like it's related to the headphones which is a bit distracting, but otherwise, I rather like this setup. Almost looks like an advertisment for the brand, in a very good commercial art way.

Headphones and waves hit the topic; not a big grab me "I'M SOUND" but definitely without any second thought required.

Interesting I got two piano pictures in a row. Yes, it definitely hits the topic. I'm not sure the straight-on side view is the best, but it's not bad, either. A bit more focus on the keys and less on the fingers maybe?
