The Sound of Peace, Silence & Tranquillityby agwrightComment: I will not argue about whether or not this is a 'sound'. Look, I'm shutting up about it right now.
It's a very pretty photograph. I like the line of powerline poles and the dip and swap that follows the mountain for a little while. |

Vroom Vroom Vroom Vroomby GotchyaComment: I do not care for the overall orangey tone of the shot, though I don't know how avoidable that might have been depending on lighting. The actual concept is good one... hey, wait. Is that a Hot Wheels? |

Bzzzzzzzzzz...by Pep VentosaComment: I had to scroll my eyes over a great deal of bright and eye-catching colour before finding the bee, which doesn't help with the feel of 'sound'. A tighter focus on the bee or a less bright set of flowers or even some less bright lighting might have helped with this. The border is very distracting as is; either a solid one or none at all would have been preferable. |

Loud Colorsby peggyComment: I'd say "It's Mardi Gras!" except, of course, it can't be. However, I am curious what it is.
"Loud colours" is right. This photo is very busy and seems somewhat out of focus. I see the double-display of the challenge topic but the composition is sufficiently distracting that it's not a terribly attractive photo to me. |

Recitalby tommy_tComment: Paper megaphone? Interesting choice. It connects to the topic after a moment's thought. I like the tunnel-to-lips shot rather than some other depiction, much more interesting than a side shot or something similar would be. |

must practise more?by hughletherenComment: *tilts head* How did you do this? Well, hopefully it'll be obvious post-challenge.
The problem for me with the concept of this photo is that as the trumpet is not currently being played, the fingers-in-ears thing is less of a good match. The basic concept is sound, it's the precise implementation that I'm not as keen on. |

Popby AleciaComment: One whole balloon earlier, one already dead one now -- makes me REALLY want to see the stage in between in a motion capture. I like the shot anyhow; the falling motion is obvious as if the pop was recent, which helps with the challenge topic being met. Maybe too bright on the lighting on top -- it probably helped make a nice crisp shadow, so only 'maybe', but it's a little distracting. |

With Bells Onby friscaComment: Heh, I was wondering if I still had my old ankle bells but I couldn't find them. Nice choice IMO therefore. A slightly different pose with the feet further apart might have given a bit more emphasis to the concept of motion and therefore ringing but it's certainly not absent with the feet in the position they are, I'm just nitpicking.
I'm a little uncertain why you chose B&W for this as all the traditional dances I can think of involving bells are things that involve very colourful costumery; I don't think it would have distracted but rather helped. However, that rug might be colourful enough to prove me wrong. |

Universal Languageby karmatComment: All y'all with piano shots really are going to have to tell me what you're playing. :)
This is nice, particularly the lighting. It looks much like I'd expect in a concert hall setting, in fact, though I'm not sure why that is -- maybe it's a soft-spot similarity. |

Vibrating Fiddle Stringby sagestudioComment: I wish the focus were tighter on the vibration with less space to the left taken up by the rest of the fiddle. Works well with the topic. |
