Universal Languageby karmatComment: All y'all with piano shots really are going to have to tell me what you're playing. :)
This is nice, particularly the lighting. It looks much like I'd expect in a concert hall setting, in fact, though I'm not sure why that is -- maybe it's a soft-spot similarity. |

Vibrating Fiddle Stringby sagestudioComment: I wish the focus were tighter on the vibration with less space to the left taken up by the rest of the fiddle. Works well with the topic. |

A Blast from Well-Worn Brassby alanfreedComment: Very, very, very, very, very distracting internal border.
Highlights on the brass maybe a bit too bright. Focus is an interesting choice; you almost can't tell if it's currently being played or not, which is good as the static musical instrument shots didn't grab me as well in terms of topic. |

CRASH!by sherComment: *rubs ear* Okay! It's a good job when I really DO hear it in my mind!
Nice motion capture. Why black and white, though? One of the things I like about cymbals is their visual tone is as bright as their aural one. |

A Splash Of Soundby gilesletherenComment: Hmm, curious how you set this up. It works with the topic. That glare in the center is unfortunately high, very disruptive in a photo otherwise fairly dark. |

It is so quiet you can hear a pin drop.by ladpupmoeComment: I think I would have preferred this without the reflective surface. The rest is fine -- the folds maybe show a little too much in your backdrop but the contrast between it and the pins helps alleviate that... it does meet the topic. |

Perfect Pitchby welcherComment: Okay, that effect is just neat, although I think the lighting level probably should have been brought down a bit or contrast reduced slightly. I see the connection to the topic, and I do like the shadow and ripple shadow -- in fact, if it weren't for needing the establishing tuning fork shot for the topic connection, I'd like it without that visible.
I am now driving myself nuts trying to figure out what the song is. I hope you reveal this later! |

Not so loudby Crafty SueComment: *wince* Ack. Kids screeching. Yes, yes, very obvious connection to the topic. Very candid snapshot style, not my favorite subject in general but I have no technical complaints. |

Amplificationsby jjbeguinComment: This shot seems somewhat busy, although I suppose it would stand reasonably well as a photojournalism shot. Definitely connection to the challenge topic. |

Road Thunderby OneSweetSinComment: Poor rusty bike. Very sound (heh, er, okay, I admit, pun intended) subject choice. The lighting is a little bright as the reflection on the muffler (er, that IS a muffler, right? auto shop was a long time ago) stands out a bit much against the rest. |
