Play Shoesby amyleighComment: Interesting shot, possibly a little too arty for the DPC crowd. It's hard to tell whether the blown highlights are accidental, or part of the photographer's style here. The crop is unusual, again it's difficult to know if the tip of the shoe on the left has been deliberately cropped or not.The composition is certainly unusual, the shoes cut the frame in two (top and bottom) which doesn't normally work well. I think it works well here however. I think that this shot can only really work as part of a series with other similar shots, but here I will give it an above average score. |

Fantastic Voyageby MarkJayComment: Lovely shot, great colours in the sky. I'd have used the colour balance in Photoshop to change the shadow colours slightly, which seem a bit dull and grey. A tighter crop would have added more power to the shot. There are large pixelated clumps in the sky... is this as a result of using NeatImage? Or maybe saving as too low a quality jpeg. I wish the boat was much sharper. Great silhouette though. |

Gas Lampby spydrComment: This is indeed a silhouette, but I'm not sure what you wanted to achieve with it. It just seems a bit boring to me, especially with it's centred composition. I think the trees were a nice idea, but there is too much clutter in the background. Good exposure, just the right amount of shadow detail. |

The Old Barnby ToddhComment: Breathtaking. Shame the sky is a little noisy, and that the silhouette isn't less cluttered in places. I wish it was sharper. Wonderful mood and composition though. 9 |

Agave Silhouetteby f-32Comment: I don't mind seeing some shadow detail in a silhouette shot, but this is stretching the challenge too much IMO. |

The Old Oak Treeby Links 2 3 4Comment: Interesting sky and tree, but the composition doesn't work for me. There is not enough ground for my taste, and there's not enough negative space to the right of the tree. You really should have cloned out the power lines, they really spoil the shot. I love the colours in the sky on the horizon. |

After the fireby dhareComment: Wonderful composition, but I wish the sky was more interesting or dramatic. I'd have been tempted to increase reds using the Colour Balance tool in Photoshop, perhaps in the highlights and increased blues in the shadows. I also wish the trees were much sharper. I love the shape of the hills. |

Steamby kellianComment: Interesting colours in sky. Not sure about the placement of the sun in the shot, I'd prefer it on one of the thirds junctions. I'd like to see a sharper foreground. Dramatic mood though. |

Silhouette Driveby DonatienComment: Interesting shot, but the composition is a bit off to me. It looks like you couldn't decide whether to centre the golfer in the frame or not. I'd crop tightly to his left, leaving plenty of negative space for him to shoot/look into. The blurred trees don't really work for me. I'm not sure about the graduated burnt out sky behind him... it looks a tad accidental rather than planned. A great idea though, and the silhouetted pose is a good one. |

Tchin tchinby rhipsterComment: Fantastic, VERY creative interpretation of challenge. Your two models are full of character and you can read all sorts of things into what each of them is thinking/feeling. Very polished execution of idea. 10/10. |
