Old kindly wrinkly faces are always a winner with candids. This has been too overprocessed though, there's a distinct halo around the face. I don't tend to like photos where the crop runs through a joint such as the ankle. Could be cropped a little tighter on the right of the frame.

Photography is about capturing exceptional moments, the skill is in capturing the fleeting moment. This gentleman looks like you could have taken the same photograph within the space of several hours. The background doesn't quite work... the shoreline meets his face and spoils his profile. What is the emotion that you want to evoke in the viewer?

You got out and grabbed a candid of some strangers, so well done! Keep pushing your comfort zone though, it's usually better if you can see most of the face. Find out how to straighten a photo... this is wonky. If you have text in a photo, make sure it's all visible. The composition feels a little too stretched here, there's too much space in the middle. It's hard to know where the eye can rest comfortably. A man being interested in some food in a shop window isn't quite enough interest for me. It's too mundane and everyday.

One of the main marks of good photography (IMO) is that it captures something unusual that you don't see everyday. You'll find that photos which meet this criteria usually do well on DPC. A bored person is the antithesis of this approach. This photo doesn't tell much of a story.

Way too intrusive for my taste. If this is just photojournalism, why have you desaturated your backgound? Photojournalism still needs to be artistic. The composition doesn't work well here, the police officers need to be facing the camera more. There's not enough sense of context for this to work well as photojournalism.

A bit hard to make out the rest of the photo other than the face. The photo feels too intimate to be a true candid, it feels more like a portrait. The lighting doesn't quite work for me, I would have prefered it if you'd managed to get the light on just part of his face. The knee seems to be the sharpest part of the photo, it really needs to be the eyes. Perhaps you could have cropped it to avoid the blown highlights.

Looks unintentionally blurry. If the wall had better lines and textures which made for a better composition, you may have pulled this off. Man's face is too dark.

The man is staring right at the camera. Not candid.

A but over-processed, skin tones are a bit too purple. Greens don't look too good. The bokeh of this lens isn't too great. Good composition though. You'd have been better off cloning out his right arm. The feel of the photo is a bit too drab and depressing for my taste.

Pet peeve... chopping off fingers when most of the hand is in shot. The green sepia looks terrible. But you've caught a nice moment. It almost looks posed, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. You could crop much tighter, there's way too much negative space at the top. I don't like it that you can't read the writing on the t-shirt, be careful if there's text in a photo. It makes you want to read the rest of it.
