Smile!!!!!!!by lmatrangaComment: Nice capture. Perhaps a little more contrast might improve the presentation. Resetting the black point so the blacks are "really black" instead of a dark gray might be worth trying. |

My reason for living...by tp-fcpComment: Great subject and pose. Perhaps the shoulders turned a little bit more toward the camera instead of "sideways". Also, the skintones look a bit "too smooth" to me. I realize that young people do have very soft skin, and perhaps I am off in this observation, but it has a bit of "plasticness" to it. |

-LAURA-by AnastasiaComment: To me, the tilt of the picture is such a strong contrast to "gravity-defying" look of her hair that it adds a bit of a strange feeling to the shot. I can't quite seem to put it into words. Other than that, it is an excellent portrait. |

Attitude is Everythingby justineComment: Great capture. My only comment is that a little more DOF so that the eye in the back was sharper would've made this more "portrait like". |

Where the Flux is that Capacitor?by rodneygComment: Is that an HP-48SX? I have one of those... HP calculators are the best. RPN all the way baby! Oh yeah, about the photo... definitely shows one aspect of "design and engineering". But perhaps a bit too much stuff? Maybe focusing on just the calculator, notepad, pencil, etc? |

Clockworksby davidbedardComment: This is great subject matter for this challenge, but for me, it looks like too much post-processing has been performed. |

FireWater by dan_pendletonComment: Excellent shot Dan. I also ranked this one highly. I really like the lighting contrast between the table and the background, very nice technique. Although the tilt of the table is slightly distracting, the ring (of flammable liquid?) around the bottle was a little more distracting. But nonetheless, it is an outstanding concept and very well executed. Congrats on the ribbon! |

Gotta light? by kiwinessComment: Congrats Gary on a terrific shot -- definitely one of my favorites in this challenge. And thanks for sharing the details of how you accomplished it. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Mallorca! |

Before Flashlightsby spydrComment: Very interesting subject matter, but unfortunately your attempt at removing the background in the upper left hand corner is very obvious and I think it ends up detracting from the picture. My other suggestion (since the theme of this challenge was "Fire") would be to focus on the region where the flame is instead of on the igniter. |
