It's a fun idea, but I don't think that the shallow DOF works for me here. I do like the simplicity, balance and geometry of it though.

Great portrait - perfectly done by the model as well as the photographer. I particularly like the expression, which definitely suggests violence on the horizon, and is wonderfully accentuated by the tight crop.
