Mallardsby optionComment: I think the amount of DOF in this shot is perfect. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the deep shadow on the face of the duck in focus. Using the highlight/shadow adjustment or levels/curves may help with bring out more detail in that area. |

Barber at workby griz210Comment: The face and shoulders are nice and sharp however the OOF hand is a bit distracting. Slightly more DOF would allow the hand to be included in the area of focus and make for a better environmental portrait. |

Elephant & Zebraby pcphotosComment: Yes, the DOF is shallow, however I think there is not quite enough DOF. Only the trunk of the elephant is in focus. I think if the entire head were in focus the image would be more interesting. |

Faux Fleurby nerdynotdirtyComment: Though the part in focus is nice and sharp (good texture in the fabric) I wonder if more DOF would make the image more interesting. As it is, the background objects are just blobs. A little more DOF would give them a little more definition. |

Winter Berries 1by shutterpuppyComment: The red berries in the middle are quite sharp and for the most part the eye is led right to them. I wonder if the image would be more dynamic if the angle of the shot were down one of the branches rather than a side view through the bush. |
