Maybe too abstract. I'm having trouble figuring out what it is. I think it's a side view of a table lamp. This view makes it very abstract, but maybe a landscape version would give more clues to what it is.

I figured out what this was right away looking at it again now. Yes, you're right, a rear-curtain flash would really help. However rather than taking 100 shots or maybe 1000 if you're trying to get the exact timing of the rear flash you could fake it like others have and have the ball stationary on the line at the start of a long exposure and jerk it away with monofilament.

I think that's the moon under the barbed wire, but it's hard to tell. I'd recommend stepping way back and zooming in much more.
