PAW - Nice texture on the tree. Is it an oak? Very sharp trunk, good DOF and bokeh in the background. Good realistic color balance. That is a long exposure for a low f-stop and it looks pretty light out. Were you using ND or CPL filters?

PAW - I agree that week one was much better IMHO, and you set the bar very high for the year. Maybe bumping up saturation, sharpness and contrast would have given this more punch.

Week 1

PAW - I like the silhouette of the tree against the sky. Nice transition in the sky from red to white and fading to deep blue. And the lovely reflective water background puts the icing on the cake.

Week 3 - Busy

PAW - Excellent, sharp bee and cactus flower and beautiful bokeh in the background. Nicely composed. Yes, the flower does look pretty orange in my notebook monitor also. You live 2 minutes from Balboa Park? Good location, definitely with enough material for a year of Urban Nature PAWs. I go there a lot and was there Saturday evening with about 120 of my closest photographer friends in the San Diego Photography Meetup. We should get together some time and shoot. It would let me meet one of my 2009 goals to meet some DPCers.

PAW - Nicely framed and posed, and I'm sure it's not easy to pose goats. Too bad the hoof is cropped. Good DOF.

PAW - This shot is very suited to a Lensbaby. It's not something to use all the time, but works well as a unique perspective. And it only works with centered composition. Nicely composed.

Nicely done Michelle. I love the reflection (especially no camera in it) and the creativity. I fear too many voters didn't take the time to see the face in it. The twig across the lens is a bit distracting.

Excellent picture. Very creative and precisely done. I think it should have scored much higher. I hope people didn't vote it down because they thought it broke rules. I have an 18" cube eBay light tent that I haven't really used much, but I may just build one like this.
