It's quite intriguing in terms of wondering what it is. I think a bit more texture would have been good - it's quite a fascinating object, but I don't think this is conveyed in the shot.

A nice portrait, I think I would have liked to have seen him smile though. The brightness would have been better toned down and a bit more contrast. He has a lovely colour of eyes.

A great creative idea - good effort. I think a close up of just the tortoise would have been better though. The green object dangling is too over-saturated.
