Rainbow Visionby KrystleComment: I like the concept, but the soft focus on the eye makes me look for other parts of the image that are in focus. I would offer one thing and that would be that you be tack sharp on the eye and move everything else ouy of focus. I think that would have helped your chances here. That being said maybe you wanted the soft focus and in that case I would have wanted to see that reflected in the title so we wouldn't have to draw our own conclusions.
Soft Rainbow Vision or A Vision of Soft Rainbows, I'm sure you see what I mean. |

Aurora Aquaticusby StigerComment: A beautiful and fresh approach to this challenge. you have a fine shot. I like the lighting and the colour, not to overdone and the reflections are beautiful. I'm pleased to see that you have placed your subject off center and allowed the ripples in the water to carry the shot. This has a warm feel to it and the tones are just right. Wonderful capture. I hope it does well here. |

Where rainbows are made...by ajschelComment: Nice capture, did you use a long exposure to get the effect? The lighting is right for this shot (at least I feel it is) and the use of the flora and the water to fram the shot works well. |

"There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby"by ZeppKashComment: Allthough it is a little faint and hard to see on my monitor there is indeed a rainbow. It is hard to catch a good shot of the sky and out laying land, but you have given it a great try nice shot to work with, with a tighter crop. |

Prismby DistantColoursComment: I love refracted light and the result. I like the lighting on this shot.I hope you are not on the receiving end of comments that tell you they think it would be better if you straightened the shot because I think this works well just as it is. Nice capture. Hope it does well. |

'Community' Catby elizadebComment: Your cat seames to have something on it's mind other than you taking it's photo. I do like the PP and the colour saturation. The DoF is wonderful, you have great detail in the fur and you can even see the scratches in the woodwork. |

Desperate Farmers miss out on rain again.by Shadowi6Comment: This is a nice human interest photo. I like capture on the falling dirt, The expression on his face tells the story for us. With this shot B&W works very well, your subject appears to jump out at you. Overall this shot is well consived and set up. It is hard to get good lighting in a challenge with such limited editing rules, but that is not a problem here, you were patient and waited by the look of things. I doubt that I'll see another approach that is similar to this one. |

Rainbow Childby JudiComment: Now Judi when I was a kid my mother told me I was never to write,draw,colour,paint,use markers,food colouring, glue,sparkles or dye on my person. You are breaking all of my mothers rules with your kids and husband. You are so cool can I come and live at your house:-}
As usual your daughter is beautiful and classic in pose. The approach you have taken is wonderful and it's easy to see why you use your family as your models. If you look in your information you said you live in the middle of nowhere:-} Just tossing you a line, they are all wonderful and you have a lot to be proud of.
Everything about your shot is wonderful from the subject right down to the use of bokeh. Great work as always and I wish you the best of luck with what should be a clear choice for one of the top three. |
