night capby breezee70Comment: Horizon is very tilted. It looks out of focus (note the blurriness of the label). There are a lot of hot spots from flash (in the glass, in the lower edge of the bottle and it's reflection,in the neck of the bottle, in the lower edge of the ashtray and inside the ashtray). I'm guessing this was taken using just a flash. This would account for the flat lighting and all the glare. |

Habitually Sadby rileyComment: C'mon, this doesn't depict a habit. Sad is a state of being. Nice dog shot though. |

What's your poison!!by daveitComment: Quite a bit tilted and it looks like there was a bit of camera shake. The hot spots at the lower edge and cutting across the middle are very distracting. Too orangey. I suggest paying attention to the white balance setting on your camera. |

Bad habit of nature: Dandelions in spring !by beletteComment: This is really stretching the idea of habit. It more aptly depicts habitat than habit. It would have been a more effective photograph if you had isolated the mass of flowers from the rest of the scene and focused a lot more carefully. |

Being Environmentally Unfriendlyby redmoonComment: This is lit in a flat and unintersting way. There are many distracting hot spots (glares in the plastic).
It is out of focus. You might have had something interesting with that one yellow cap amidst all the blue but it is too small to be more than a distraction. |

Yellow Tulipby balvardiComment: A hobby is not a habit, if that is what you were aiming to depict. So you lose a point there. Nice lighting on the tulip but the background (mainly the white and purple-black pansies) is too distracting. |

A Costly Habit Indeedby traserComment: This is a good idea for a habit but this photo doesn't really have much going for it in terms of visual appeal on its own. |

Spitting in Publicby jimwfletcherComment: This would have been so much better if you had closed in on the central figuer in the fountain. The other streams of water don't add to the idea, they are just distracting. We really don't need to see half of that kid's head in the lower right corner. The fence adds nothing to this idea either. |

Nightly Cross-Word Puzzleby artvetComment: This is a visually cluttered snap shot.
By cluttered I mean there are too many colors and patterns that don't harmonize well. For instance, the blue flowered comforter adds absolutely nothing of visual interest to this shot. Nor does that yellow jacket or shirt she is laying on that also seems to be showing up behind her head. The lighting is flat and uninteresting.
You can't see the subject's face which may have helped a little toward making it more appealing as a snap shot. Unfortunately, it's not even a good snap shot. Sorry. |
