Ruins of a Dying Art.....by NikonJebComment: Great mood, very desolate and foreboding! I like the symmetry and the grain is perfect for this type of photo. One small comment, the blown out pillar on the right is a bit distracting. |

Ways Of Livingby e301Comment: Fantastic view point! I like the fact that the subject on the left is placed at the top of the photo with empty space below and the two subjects on the right are exactly the opposite. |

old man in his kitchenby SkipComment: I like this shot but I'm not too sure about the position of the old man. I do like the light behind his head and his hand but seating him to one side, perhaps at a table would have shown more of his surroundings and made him look more at ease. On the other hand posing him in such a confrontational pose, makes ME feel uncomfortable and therefore evokes an emotion in me, which is what I think makes a good photograph. The addition of grain adds to the mood and is wonderful. |

The Photographerby IreneMComment: This is a great shot! The photographers right arm is perfectly placed to frame both the photograph and his face and I like the space you have left in front of the lens. The grain is the perfect touch for this kind of photograph. Well done. |

Urban Decayby sarsonukComment: I like the colours in this photograph and the sunlight caught on the top of the main door. It definately shows urban decay but with regards to the challenge, I don't see much evidence of grain. |

Horse and Homeby sfarrell23Comment: Although most of the grain is lost in this shot except in the sky, I think it is still a great photo. The grain in the sky adds to the moodiness of the heavy clouds and the dark line of trees. |

To Be in Kansas Againby tfarrell23Comment: This is a wonderful picture. I am particularly a fan of leading lines and the fence does this really well, while adding interest with the texture at the same time. The trees also add interest to the horizon which would have been bland without them. On the other hand, I don't think this is the best picture for grain as the impact of the grain tends to get lost in the texture of the grass, fence and trees. Still, well spotted and photographed. |

The Lighthouseby salmiakkiComment: Pity there weren't some nice clouds in this photo but we can't just 'order' these things can we? Good positioning of the horizon and the lighthouse though and I think the subject suits the grainy texture well. |

Solitudeby HaikuSailorComment: Some of the highlights seem a bit blown out but I like this photograph anyway. The figure is well placed on the pathway, which leads you into the picture and I like the way the shadow stretches towards the bottom left corner, filling a part of the frame which would have been rather empty otherwise. |
