The subtle colours are nice. The title fits this photo perfectly and I like how just one of the plants is poking up. The gray dead space works well, but IMO it would look better in a tradition 1:1.5 or 1:1.25 ratio. I like the DOF as it puts all the background out of focus, but the out of focus part of the green in the bottom right is distracting.

Colours are great here. Really rich and warm. What I would change is have the image less centred and static. The horizon in almost centred as well as the tree. Move those 2 things off centre and a much better image will prevail.
