The slight off-kilter tilt gives it a snapshoty feel. I think a little closer on one of the burgers with the flame wrapping around it would have been a bit more meaningful. Good capture of the flame though.

My first thought is: the two primary elements represented - water and air - are washed out to the point that they're indistinct in the shot. Not sure if there's a purpose behind that...

This is probably my highest rated "doesn't fit the challenge"/"stretch to fit the challenge"/whatever-you-want-to-call-it picture ever. I'm usually at least a little sticky about fitting the challenge and not relying too much on the title to fit a shot in, but I gave this one an 8 - not often do I literally laugh out loud when I'm looking at challenge entries - when I saw this I did. And even without knowing the etymological roots of the word "garage". :)

Very nicely done. Effective use of color and soft focus. Lighitng and composition are excellent. The only blemish is the title - a little too cutsie. My favorite so far this challenge.

Colorado and Mountains

I had several ideas like this - the one thing is visual (the mountains), the other is implied or conceptual (Colorado). In the end I didn't pursue it because to pull it off, both "things" I think really need to have impact in the shot - here, Colorado doesn't. Nice mountain shot though.

Nice ice - not enough snow. The shadows might have been interesting, but in the end, for me, they clash with the vertical icicles and become a distraction.

Good idea, good lighting. Composition could have been better - the tight framing could work well, but it's so tight it has a bit of a square, blocked off feel - you don't get the feel of the ball in the glove, the two together, but the ball to one side (vertically), the glove to the other. A real baseball would have photographed better. Good effort.
