Nice find... but I find the strong line across the center of the shot rather unsettling. Perhaps a composition with the line at a thirds point?

Nicley composed, but a few distractions that impact my score. The photo appears to have been rotated slightly without being re-cropped (blue background at the bottom of the shot). The background appears to have been overprocessed to the point of becoming a distraction... it seems so unnatural against the sharp lines on the cones in the foreground.

I particularly like the toning you have added to this shot-- it works very well to emphasize the textures in the rock and the contrast to the sharp, angular railing. However, the uneven horizon is pretty distracting, in my opinion, and you might have been better served to get more of the rock at the left in the frame, particularly at the top of the frame.

PS -- didn't score down for it, but you are missing a couple of pixels along the left and top edges. This may have happened during cropping/resizing.

Very nicely captured... I can almost hear the sound of the "bloop"! While the shallow DOF works well, there appears to be some after-effects of perhaps a bit of overprocessing in the lighter areas behind the 'bloop'. In my opinion, it detracts from the overall impact of your shot.

I love the combined effect of the shallow DOF and rich colors combined with this low-key shot. If it were mine, I might have tried bringing the water droplet to thirds, or to a fully centered position-- perhaps even cropping a bit off the bottom of the shot to do so. --8

Very good use of a longer shutter speed... the pastel colors from the underwater lighting create an almost mystical effect within the shot.

Beautiful scene, with fantastic lighting. The strong diagonal created by the stream works well to draw my eye across the shot, and the arching trees add to the interest of the shot. The colors are a bit too over-saturated, however, and detract significantly from the overall effect of your shot, in my opinion. --7

First, just some general comments. This would be a very tough subject to capture, and it definitely fits within the challenge. I have often done just as you mention in your comments-- sitting in front of a campfire and watching the flames and embers and the night sky.

That said, I'm not certain the inclusion of the moon (as the frame was exposed) necessarily benefits the shot. It is almost indistinguishable as the moon, and while there is some merit to including it in the shot, it detracts from what I see as the essence of your shot in the flames and embers of the fire itself... unless you were able to get the moon in focus and cleanly exposed. And I doubt that a title change would have significantly increased your score.

Technically, the shot is quite nicely done, particularly the length of exposure and the resulting ember trails. The color and exposure impart a nice, peaceful feeling to your shot, accentuating the theme of the challenge.

I hope my comments are helpful-- if you have any further questions or would like clarification on anything here, please let me know!

Paul.
