Fungi - Day 10by sherpetComment: Very close and very nice. I like the abstractness of this image too. Must have been a pretty big mushroom like a portabello, or some real close and steady close up work there. I like how the DOF is soft at the top and bottom; it really helps frame the image nicely. Well done. |

Day 12 - Crocusby hajekaComment: Very zen. Nice you were able to capture this while it was open. Nice detail in the petals, even with all that bright yellow to compete. |

Ropeby ShutterPugComment: Wow ... the full size is much more dramatic than the thumb. It looked like the rope in the background was going to be distracting, but fullsize there's so much detail and sharpness in the foreground rope that the other one kind of fades away |

Day 11 - Heartby kteachComment: I liked this one on the thumb, and the full size does not disappoint. Love the rainbow colors. |

No Quarterby Yo_SpiffComment: I did not rate this one highly, and that was because, in this challenge, my vote was heavily influenced by whether it met the meaning of the song, or at least evoked the spirit or feel of Led Zeppelin either by borrowing elements from their album art or using edgy or dark post-processing. I think I was probably in the minority in that approach, among both the shooters and the voters.
I can't really speak to your 8s or 10s. Maybe they were being deliberately contrary. Or maybe they didn't care so much about the music and just really liked your picture. ;>P |

Going To California (Led Zeppelin IV)by J-MeComment: I gave you a 7. I thought it fit the song real well, especially the way he's holding the guitar like he's going to attack the song, rather than just sitting back and playing a simple melody. The humor is a nice touch -- the hawaiian style shirt in the snow is priceless. It also helps that your husband looks like he would not have been out of place at a Zep show in the '70s (assuming his hair was a bit longer back then). |

Simply redby MelethiaComment: Hey Deb -- I didn't vote on this one originally, but I do like the colors and soft processing and DOF techniques. The composition is pleasing as well, though a part of me would like to see more of those flowers on the left edge, at least that top one that's lost just the tip of its petal. The colors and tones on the leaves are marvelous. Very lifelike. |
