Watching the Ships Go Byby RamblinRComment: The body language on your subjects make this image. They are both slumped a bit, watching the ocean, close but not touching. What are they thinking as they look out at the waves and watch the ship steam by? Nice use of desat too. |

Men in blackby birkinComment: Nice composition and subject. Who are these gentlemen and where are they going? Background isn't the greatest (tho I like the brick street), but in street photography you don't always get to pick your spot! |

Mucho Frio!by camphanComment: This is one of those rare shots where the back of the head shot actually works, since the point is the complementary colors in the people and the mural. Nice found moment. |

Street Cafe Eavesdroppingby GreetmirComment: Great stolen moment. The movement of her hand, the expressions on their faces, the half drunk beer all draw the viewer into this image. I like the processing on this one, too. |

guitar manby arsenalComment: What a great street scene; the guitar man is fabulous, and putting him in the middle of the street scene really makes this picture as it gives context to the image, much more than a close up on him alone would have done. The barely hidden guy in the background slyly watching him walk by is priceless. |

Street Circusby StuMComment: Nice capture. The expressions on the crowd, particularly the girl on the left, really make this a nice image. |

Thinking About Summerby vtruanComment: Great subject, and the light accentuates the facial features and "arms" in the rock. I wish you would have opened up your f-stop to blur out the branches, though, as the background is distracting. |

Finneganby CitadelComment: Since you asked for comments ... I gave you a 4. Here's why. Finnegan's facial expression is good, but its hard to see the eyes, and that's what really grabs you in a great pet shot. We get a little of the left eye (and what we see is good), but nothing on the right. The light is also a bit harsh on the left, and you've lost the detail in the area above his eye. The background is distracting, even though blurred, because of the lines of color and form that distract from the subject. A more monotone background would have worked better. The image also could have been cropped much closer to his head, to minimize the distraction of the background. Finally, the leash going out of the frame on the lower right is distracting. Some of these are little nits, but they add up, and its the details that really matter. |
