I like the lighting on the other shot much better, but this is a great one to compare and contrast the different feelings we get from different light. This shot looks kind of flat and the colors and textures not as rich, particularly on the leaves. The previous shot from the opposite side has a lot more color and detail, particularly in the leaves. Nice subject to explore.

I like how the early morning light leaves that strong red line on the side of the lighthouse. Saturation is a bit overdone on the foreground water, but I like the effect everywhere else.

Very interesting and edgy processing. I really have to teach myself how to play with textures. But all the processing in the world won't help unless you start with an interesting image, and you did that here. Nicely done, and thanks for finding the energy to join us on the walkabout! Another nice b+w, and you've done a nice job on the processing to bring out the rich black tones. Good ground up perspective, as others have said, and nice how you kept each of the four stalks isolated against the sky. Nice group of photos you came up with. Thanks for joining us on the walkabout!

I like how the cactus seems to be standing in the middle of the path until you look closer. good choice for b+w. great desert to walk through, though it probably seems pretty ordinary to you.

Nice depressing start to your walkabout. this would work really well with a telephoto lens compressing the depth and making the signs seem even closer together.
