Emerald-Violet Swallowby hahn23Comment: Lovely background and very cool bird! I only wish that we could see a little more of his face but I realize that they aren't exactly the most poseable subjects. :) Nicely done. |

Je T'aimeby tcmartinComment: I think the background is nicely out of focus but I find it a bit too distracting for the shot. My eye is more drawn to the dark, busy stripes than it is to the subject...her face. |

Butterflyby JewellianComment: Nice bokeh but the point of focus is a little disconcerting here. I think focus on the wing in the foreground might have been a little better. |

Where the antelopes roamby inspir8tionComment: Nicely handled background here. I think the crop is a little close to the nose...I'd rather the extra space that's on the righthand side be on the left so that he could be looking into it rather than looking out of the frame. |

Daydreamingby Prof_FateComment: I'm not sure what makes you think this is a ribbon winner, exactly. It's a decent shot but there isn't anything especially stunning about it. There is bokeh but the dark black spot and the fact that the lighter spots are a similar but much brighter shade than her jacket both draw attention away from the subject so I'm not sure I'd consider it a strong addition to the photo. That, in addition to her shiny ring, make me look many places other than her face. Perhaps a stronger catchlight in the eyes would help draw attention to the proper place. Without the title, I'm not sure that I'd figure she was daydreaming - she looks more like she's less than interested in being there. I think it's a fine photo but lacking in anything that will pull it above the rest. |

On Mommyby PhilComment: Awww...new baby! Too cute. I love this photo. I don't think you Neat Imaged too much at all...it has a wonderful softness to it. |

Monkeyby TygerrComment: You have some excellent animal portraits here. In this one and the bear shot, you can almost feel the texture of their fur.
Amazing that you are able to get so close with a 300mm. At our zoo, everything is so far away! |
