Only God Can Make A Treeby reischComment: It's a pretty nice moment, but you need to get into the idea of cropping, and do something about submission dimensions and size: on a high-res monitor even the full size images are a bit small for impact. This could have used some processing all round really, to give it a bit of ping - but as I said, the basic thing, taking the actual shot, is there. |

Banjomanby h2Comment: Neat work. I like how much fun he's having. The tree? can't make up my mind whether that's a good thing or not ... |

Patient Reflectionby LucidLotusComment: Interesting fella; Strong composition, but perhaps missing a sense of detail, and without that sense of the perfect moment that would make the lack of it irrelevant. |

Concentrationby mmusicanteComment: Good work. I like the cropping, which achieves a strong dynamic line between his face and his hands. Overall it perhaps lacks some viual finesse to score really well, but it's certainly a proper shot. |

The Turksby kiwinessComment: Really like this; excellent sense of dynamic and location. Title brings to mind a couple of well remembered books. |

A quiet read in the sunby bob_bobskiComment: The colour becomes such a strong element of a colour photograph that it doesn't help guide the eye to your subject. The over-exposure isn't helping - would love to see more texture in those hands. |

closing timeby SkipComment: i like the moment, the expression, the very strong sense of location and mood; seems a touch forced into the nearly square crop, perhaps. |

Candid Encounterby Dim7Comment: Definitely something of an achievement to get the shot at all, although it seems the focus is stronger on the foreground sticks than the bird's head; a classic case of having a very dificult photograph to get and hoping that people will not pay too much attention to the challenge details? |

Into The Fireby CamComment: Fun, but the composition and cropping doesn't feel thought through to me; if you're forced not to have their feet (and this is primarily about their clothes), then you might usefully have cropped closer all round, especially top of frame, at least to generate the feeling of real closeness - and you seem to have the detail here to allow that. They're nicely alien seeming though. |
