Always intersting to see an effectively black and white composition in full colour, especially digital - shows how critical white balance can be. Like the framing, and the grouping, but the highlights are a little over-exposed for me - could have been a half stop less. 7

V small pic! Like the blue wall very much - what a gift to photo! did you try having the foreground eggs in focus and the background out? I think the composition draws the eye to the edge of the basket, rather than the wall, and so the DOF confuses things here. Also (small point) the eggs don't look fragile enough to me: too shiny, could almost be porcelain fake ones. Nice try though. 6

7. I'm not sure about DOF - did you try a version with the holder in focus? My eye is drawn to the inside of the egg, and it's the shell that is in focus. And what most let it down for me is that it needs rotating - and there seems no good reason for it being tilted slightly. Nice try though

A really good effort - but I wanted to see some motion on the egg, just the vague kind of blur a slower shutter would have given. And also, the whites have blatted out, and the horizon not being horizontal bothers me - in fact, all the background bothers me. A pity, as that would have made it my favourite of the week by far. Think you gave yourself a massive challenge, and it nearly worked! Good stuff

I haven't voted this the best, but it wouldn't surprise me if you won (other than I suspect jokey photos never win here). Beautifully shot - depth of field, colour, detail, composition, focus. Not sure I wouldn't have voted higher without the writing on the egg perhaps - the reference would still have been obvious, no? Did you try that?

Whilst I liked this shot, and gave it a decent mark, there are two reasons I haven't given it a better score: I don;t like the composition - the primary image is dead centre and the eye wanders away too easily, and the way that cantral egg masks those behind it seems ... well hurried, i guess. I'm also not sure about the visibility of the black carpet (or whatever it is) - whether or not it is, it looks accidental. Technically, other than those small points, a nice shot though.

This is great - the colour combination is really lovely, really rich and deep. Too many pale yolks in this challenge. Can't quite give it a 10 though - but good luck.

Good stuff. That optical illusion that makes the top of the shot look wider than the bottom ... !!! Works well to contrast the narrowing of the egg itself. There's a little detail lacking though, maybe? Not quite perfectly in focus on the egg, or you found a really smooth egg.
