Semaphoreby GeneralEComment: DPC has changed a lot since this challenge, as have the software and hardware/cameras. By today's tech standards, not the most "whiz bang" of images, but for you, I'm sure that it's a nice little "remember this day" sort of photo, and that's what snapshots are all about. |

Mile Marker 52by mbrutus2009Comment: This is a very Florida Keys looking shot. I've seen it almost this red down there a little after sunset. This would be shot from somewhere at or near Marathon from your MM info. The vignette is a natural thing there too, when shooting sunsets with a very wide lens, because the light actually does off pretty fast going away from the sun around the horizon. I do agree thought that it would look more natural and pleasing a little less saturated and not as purple with the tint. |

At the end of the world by Alex_PetriniComment: Well done! The choice of lens angle and point of view combined to make the most of the ramp or extension of the long dock, where it goes out into the sky. With the star trails it makes a grabber of an image. Your attention to all the elements in this shot shows in the result, and the ribbon.
The D7000 is an impressive camera too. Congrats on the ribbon, and on the new hardware.
If you are just out shooting JPG, try a night shot using "incandescent" or "Tungsten" white balance, and the sky will be a lovely blue. When shooting RAW, it can be done in processing. The orange in this one is great for the effect that it's at the "End of the World". |

Our Driveway in the Mist by MargaretNetComment: Well done! This is a very pretty scene with the little bit of fog to give it the "warm & fuzzies". Congrats on the ribbon, and on your good choice of images. |

Going Homeby jomariComment: The overlay gives this one a sort of ghostly appearance. It's very dreamlike. |

06322 - Shadowplayby pixelpigComment: This appears to be printed on cloth. It's a very good effect, and thanks for posting how you got that. |

Night roseby daisydavidComment: It's interesting the way you lighted this shot. Seeing the camera settings of f35? and 8 sec @ iso400. My guess is flash from above right, and evening ambient light just after sunset?
The overall impression that I get viewing this seems to make me aware of the thorny stems of the plants as well as the beauty of the simple white roses. I don't know if it's the lighting or the low angle POV that provides that impression for me.
