IMG_6443-copyDPC.jpgby xianartComment: I like that you shot more of the water in this one. Maybe because it's on line at 640 res, there is an area at the bottom with not much detail at all which may have looked a little better with a slightly higher camera angle, but then that would put the boat in the center and mess up the balance which is so nice now. A slight lightening would eliminate the dark area without disturbing the composition, esp if it was done with a dodge & burn to just that area.
Very peaceful and relaxing to look at just as it is. |

Realm of the Deerby AlexSaberiComment: I can hardly wait to see your "Best of 06" image! I would bet that your heart pounding when you made this capture.
I wonder how this would look PP'd with "Gothic Glow" as Jutilda used on her image "Down the Road" to get the "glowing" effect? |

Before the stormby silverscreenComment: I'm really drawn to the light in the tree tops along the horizon, and the stormy rich colors in this image. |

River Sunsetby robinssongComment: Sunset is my fav time of day, and the sky in Florida really lights up for them in the fall and early winter.
The birds in the foreground are a big plus to me, and the centered composition is nice and seems balanced. It's neat that the birds form a wedge to the right, and the clouds behind them form a wedge to the left with the sun rays making a wedge downward. It's an inverted triangle composition.

Hpim1088.jpgby rayg544Comment: This is a very interesting place. I like the light on this image, as the details show up so well. An antique car would do a lot for a photo of this place. I went by a place similar to this in New Mexico last Oct. Thanks for posting the pics of Gary's shop. I will post an image of the one in NM soon. |

Goat on 427 corvette Stingrayby candersen10Comment: There's no place like home. That has to be tough on the fiberglass. It's a good thing it isn't a rag top. I hope that isn't your car, or even worse your goat and someone else's car.
Including some of the background helps to set the scene. Good snapshot. |

Wetby puzzledComment: Definitely an image to be proud of ! The dark water with white feathers and droplets plus the action make this image just vibrate with life. Perfect focus on the bird's head makes it even better. Good title too. |

Lost Herdby WinkComment: This is a good composition for an image of the Grand Canyon. The guys in the foreground establish the scale of the hole in the ground much better than a tree or rock. I was impressed with the Rio Grande Gorge in New Mexico and I can see why this is called the "Grand" Canyon.
Good title too. |

Snow on California's Central Coastby tinky2Comment: The store and the location work togather in this image. It's good that you didn't crop out the background when you were shooting it, as it adds a lot of information to the image about the subject. It's also nice that they didn't burn it to make more room in the field behind it. The boarded up windows detract a little from the image which is not something you could do anything about. The title seems a bit long, but it describes the location as coastal so it helps place the scene. You have many excellent images in your portfolio. It was not easy to choose which to comment on. |
