If you get a rubber lens shade, you can put it against the glass, and keep reflections out. This is a beautiful live scene.

Center cockpit is the most comfortable layout for ocean sailing. It helps to have a place where everyone enjoys hanging out when underway, so you aren't alone on watch. The dodger/bimini top is worth it's weight in gold when it's sunny or rainy too. Very nice!
I see from this shot that you were in the companionway when you got the shot with the winches.

I photographed one of these a few days ago, at a place where I work. They bloom all the time, not just once in a while.
