I should have photographed my husband and titled it "hard hat, hard head" *evil grin* I can't quite put my finger on what it is...but, did you play a lot with the contrast??? It kinda flattens his forehead somehow???? Not sure what it is about his shot. Maybe, it's just my eyes! LOL

Are you like me and working sometimes without a tripod? *sigh* I can see where you're going though with the soft focus idea. It compensates a bit for the blur to the shot. I've just bought a tripod (cheap one) and it helps tremendously with the blurring on the long exposures due to poor lighting. I LOVE the idea of this shot though!

I had to really look to find the one aimed as the portraiture subject! The background is far too busy and the subject far to "disguised".

great shot but, it's too dark to be appreciated fully. Perhaps, lighting it and adjusting the contrast would have really drove this home????
