Love the background colour as it really matches well with your main subject matter. There is just something not quite as eyecatching as it could be. Perhaps, it's the glare/reflection off of the jelly center that's causing a distraction away from the picture as a whole? Not sure what it is. It looks like the jelly/syrup center has gelled quite a bit and may have created the reflection?? Sorry, wish that I could put it into more preciseness but, something is stopping the main subject from being as defined as it could be in a photo. 6

lovely macro shot with a lot of clarity but, lacks some "ooomph" somehow. Perhaps, had there been some other pieces, partially popped behind it????

I like the concept but, the shot is just a tad too darkened. Perhaps, your monitor needs a bit of adjusting? I'm sure that it looked lighter in your screen than it does on other screens. Have you checked it on other screens?
