I hope this is doing well. I know sore feet, they are today, and yet these take it to a new level. Well done..

Greetings from the Critique Club.
Hello Egill, Iâm Alan.

As a member for just short of a year, you should know by now a 6+ score in this crowd is a damn good score. Your exposing of the sunset seemed to work out well, but your white balance seems a bit off as the window frames seem a bit grey (a quick fix might be in the ability to open JPEG images in Camera RAW using Bridge in Photoshop, PM me on how) I like the isolation of the church but wonder if the negative space on the right might be cropped out a bit. Possibility adding a second subject (person) on the right might have added interest.
The above is only advice if your looking for a improved score on DPC, personally I like it the way it is. Good photo, good score, I hope you enjoyed capturing, as much as I, the view..

Greetings from the Critique Club.
Hello Joshua, Iâm Alan.

First on your subject, spot on focus, and I like the B&W treatment. Looking at your bicyclist I feel the exhaustion. Truth be told when you reach the upper 5âs with this tough crowd, âyour almost thereâ in the photography world. âAlmostâ being the key word, your âalmostâ was in the rest of the story, the why. If the water was just on the face (sweat) I could buy into the background, but in this the helmet and glasses are also wet and I wonder why, the sterile background gives no indication, you have a great subject, but no story.
With the Olympics currently running, and with your great subject, filling in the rest of the story would have pushed you into the 6.5+ range, if not on the front page.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Greetings from the Critique Club.
Hello Ankur, Iâm Alan.

Usually, I look at the photo first, then go to photographers comments and never look at other comments. Had you not mentioned the boy, I would have not considered it, important, now my eye is drawn.
As for the portrait, Outstanding, yea-yea the background could have been improved, but realistically we have what we have. I think if you would have blurred the background further, I doubt you would have passed a review by the SC. Keep doing this type of work, no doubt I will see you soon on the home page.
