Pidialby helgihelgiComment: Really nice point of view here. By using the dial as a circle, I do get a feeling that pi (and math in general) can be found all around us, even in every day objects like this. To that end, I like the color, though I don't know why, and your composition and cropping is excellent. Nice work. |

Time For Piby rickhd13Comment: Fun idea. With the watch, your image communicates to me a connection between time and pi, though I'm not sure what that connection is at this point, except that pi is on the watch. |

3 Signs of Piby dg02Comment: I'm sure I'll figure out the third one soon... Anyway, I like this photo. The lines on the mill stone let me know that you are communicating radii here, and the bench is a nice touch. I can see pi at work here. Nice tones and focus, too. |

3.14159265 walnutsby Pep VentosaComment: I originally gave this a 7, but I'm bumping it up to a 9, because I keep looking at it. I think it's clever and demonstrates pi very well. Not only that, I like its whimsy, and the lighting and composition are marvelous. Nice work! Hey too bad they're not pecans. We could have had pecan pi! |

Stonehengeby KonadorComment: My ancestors came from Exeter, which is, I believe, just south of Stonehenge. I like this photo because this site uses pi in at least two ways: we all know that it is circular, and successfully demonstrate pi in a few of the rock formations. I like the high contrast, which enhance the pi sillouettes, and the clouds above are a wonderful source of mood. |

Round Red Ring of Piby GeocideComment: The circles of varying degrees of focus lend a sense of mystery to this photo, challenging us to think beyond the photograph to the essence of pi. In this regard, the title doesn't help much. But the tones and colors help and slightly off center cropping is a nice touch. |

Approximately Four Types of Piby mbardeenComment: Clever. The title really clues me in to start looking for pi in its various guises. The high contrast of this photo add an immediacy to it; so I'm puzzled by its use as this does not look like it needs immediacy. The lighting is marvelous and creates a sense of scientific mystery. Nice composition and cropping and a super idea. |

The Hand of Piby magnetic9999Comment: What works so well for me here is that the fingers are being used as kind of a proxy radius for the drawn circle, so it really is the hand of pi. Nice work! The ring distracts me a bit, as I can't see a clear connection to pi (though there is a connection to the finger!). The illumated pi on the back of the hand is a nice touch; I like how it is over exposed, giving it an unearthly feel. The image as a whole confuses me only slightly, since the image doesn't really convince me that a hand is the best communication of pi, though it seems to be a natural one. Does that make sense? Anyway, very nice work. High marks from me. |

mat with 2 π(pi) toothpick aroundby kenboComment: I have to admit to being both intrigued and confused at this image. Of course it is a literal communication of pi is, but I find the basket and toothpicks really interesting in relation to the cold numbers. You've also used the non-scientific color of red as a background, so my mind is every which way. Hmmm. That could be a good thing! |

(1)3.(0) 14(0) 15(0)by dacrazyrnComment: I have to admit to being a bit confused at this one, but I can see pi at work anyway, and I really like the composition, focus and lighting of this image. It would go well in an outdoor magazine! |
