Happy New Year From Texas!by scarbrdComment: I think you've got too much time on your hands or something.
;p
It's a great idea and you pulled it off with flying colors. The lighting is nice and clear and even.
The neighbors must think you've cracked. |

Happy Birthday Shermyby sherpetComment: This is just incredible work to me. (I really mean it). It has an almost painted look to it. The colors and "Agave" pictures behind the both of you are all positioned so well. I think you should do a series of these. It really is terrific.
It reminds me of a classic painting.
The purple âportrait styleâ background along with the bright yellow border is such an unusual combination. I know this is meant to be a family birthday card/wish, and I hope you are not offended by my desire to have everyone in the world take a closer look at this shot Shez.
It just reminds me of a combination of somewhere between The Mona Lisa and Peeweeâs playhouse. The smooth textures of the skin and faces along with the color combination gives this an animated feel but the classic pose and square features give it back that professional feeling. The two contrasts give this the most unusual quality.
That type of contrast and unusual quality is what really makes this stand out to me. Itâs something I aspire to in my own work when Iâm shooting for unique. I can picture several of these style pictures hanging in a row on a wall in your home with a sign that says WELCOME. Maybe another picture showing only one of the agave pictures in place with one of you on a yellow ladder in the process of hanging the second picture. This just makes me smile and I've added it to my favorites.
Itâs Great Work!

Hand Made Sandalsby DIVIANComment: This is my favorite of the challenge. It's excellent. I know the vignette is an intentional addition, but I think the shot is strong enough without it. I also think the heavy black border is a bit to overpowering. To me it actually makes this perfect shot look more "processed" if that makes sense. I really like the craftsman and the way he is holding the shoe and looking at what I think would be a customer. (Rather than looking at the camera and smiling). He looks to be in mid-sentence, and selling the customer his handcrafted wares. 10 |

This is stunning Ray. The cracks in the Hwy are an excellent complement to the rustic barn. Simply beautiful. |
