I dont know why but I just keep returning to this shot. Love the pastel colours and the great repetitive shape of the jacks. Maybe I would have preffered a fractionally sharper DOF but still a great 8

How life can play cruel tricks on occasion. I love this shot, it not only meets the challenge perfectly but it has been wonderfully executed. It would have got a perfect 10 from me but the speed sign (which unfortunately hits right along a line of third that has been reversed when you flipped the picture is quite distracting to me. I appreciate that you had to do the flip to get the s curve but I reckon that that may be what stops a fantastic shot being a ribbon winner in this challenge

For me personally this is the best shot in the challenge. It combines so many great elements, a fantastic s curve that is at once both subtle and obvious. A great action shot with a crispness of focus to die for and a wonderful wonderful b&w conversion

10 from me and if this doesnt ribbon then I have no idea what would

Stunningly beautiful shot. I love the black and white conversion and the strength and subtlty of the s curve. May have preferred a slightly deeper dof so the ridge in the background was a tad sharper but definitely one of my personal ribbons Bump to 9

Very nice shot the soft colours, sea mist and slightly overexposed background gives the shot a dreamlike quality. This would have done brilliantly in the silhouette challenge.

The PP on this almost takes the image from digital photography to digital art which in DPC world can mean that you get 'punished' in the scores given. from my own perspective I have to say I am not a great fan of this type of image but having said that I think you have executed it very well. 5

So much to like about this photo, yet if I am being 100% honest somehow the mix of a lot of great elements doesnt quite come together. I dont know whether I can pinpoint what it is but I feel that it is in part to do with the colours. Sorry if this sounds like a negative comment, it is not meant to be and I would say that I do like the shot a lot

I always think that late september is one of the best times to visit Venice (not too hot/smelly) or overly crowded. A very nice shot with a wonderful range of colours (it reminds me of a jigsaw) possibly could have done with a touch of dodging and burning to bring the sky out but other than that very good
