Leaf Lifeby macrothingComment: I love the textures that this photo shows - very nice use of lighting to show the detail of the leaf - and nice use of bokeh for the background. 8 |

Warning to Young Music Loversby elizadebComment: Pretty nice set up for a shot (and very funny sign) - but the saturation really seems off - the mortar on the brickwork looks purple to me and the rest of the image has a strong orangish tone on my monitor. |

Beatnik Understudyby MuppetComment: The set up of the photo is pretty good - especially the drum and hat. But, this image seems a little fuzzy and the lighting with the sharp shadows is not very flattering to the cool drum. I woudl love to see more detail on the drum - sharpening and improved light might help out. |

554 - Synchronization Completeby emaynerComment: A nice effort. The illumination from the iPOD seems a bit blown out compared to the CDs around the photo. A little better lighting on the CDS so that the exposure could be adjusted would probably help this. |

Shhhhhh!by dkersheyComment: Nice lighting from behind. The 'concentration' on the face is displayed pretty good. The only problem is that I had to really look to find the iPOD - staging it more may have helped a bit more. |

Bridge Over Troubled Watersby RissaComment: This is an interesting perspective. I think this may have worked better in B/W. The colors from the strings are a little distraction. There is a great deal of good light and reflective surfaces going on in the photo from the soundboard of the instrument and the bridge has interesting detail and B/W with good contrast would probably help bring it out more.
Maybe a slightly wider shot would also help, showing the connection of the strings to the soundboard. Another thing that might help is having the horizon more at 1/3 from the bottom rather than at ~20%. |

Taylor & I (How I miss High School...)by candlerainComment: Oh, to be in HS again.... It is amazing how a guitar, a couple of Eagles songs, and a girl can make a Saturday night into a party. Great concept for a photo, but I really don't like the lighting of this much - the underwear has some strange shadows on it and the focus could be a little sharper. It is strange, but it almost seems that the background is in focus and the guitar and the unmentionable is OOF. |

A MIx of Studiesby russiansergeeComment: The set up is pretty good - but I think it just seems so forced with all the stuff in the image - especially wih the individual writing on a piece of paper that is under a book on a page that is already filled up. In addition, the lighting is a little flat - it needs more contrast and better color adjustment to make the apple etc. |

Chinese New Year Paradeby andrerussoComment: I like the colors and energy in the shot, but the angle displayed with only a side view of the drummer doesnt seem to highlight the music part. |
