They just transliterate (not translate) it using Arabic letters that spell out the sound "Starbucks Coffee." They do that with damn near anything. They don't translate "Star," "bucks" or even "coffee" and put them together to form the Arabic equivalent. I understand doing that with a word like "Starbucks" that has no real meaning in Arabic. I don't understand why they don't use the Arabic word for "coffee," though, which is "KaHwah."

I think I recognize this. Is this at a mall in Kuwait City? I haven't been there in a few years, but it sticks out in my memory.

To those below wondering about Starbucks, yes, there are Starbucks all over the Middle East (though not in Iraq). We have four of them that I can think of in Oman.

I don't like her laying on the American flag. So-called "artists" will defend it as some sort of artistic expression. I just find it disrespectful; though I will concede the possibility that if it were extremely well-done and carried some kind of deep message, there might be a possibility that it could be acceptable. Maybe. But not this one. I am not accusing the photographer of intentionally being disrespectful. I am simply expressing the view that there are some things that are inappropriate to do with the flag and that this is one of them.
