Packhorse Bridge, Allerfordby tembaComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Great shot with good detail throughout. I like the B&W conversion. The use of the border as a place to put the text works really well here. Improvements? Not sure if I can think of any. Something to try would be to take your converted image and then hand paint some of the color back in.
Effective as a postcard because this image does make me want to see this place in person.
Great job. |

This is a tough image to critique. I like the colors and the exposure is well handled. Its sharp through out. So that all said, technically its a good image.
The problem I have is that my eye is looking for something rest on. The lines of the reservoir take your eye out of the frame. I'd be tempted to do a panoramic crop. (Start with where the nearest shoreline meets the edge of the frame and cut that all off) |

West Witteringby bobonacusComment: Greetings from the critique club!
Not a lot to say about this image really. Its certainly a shot I enjoy and I can't see much that would improve it and nothing that really is wrong with it. The colors are nicely saturated without being overly so. You did a good job on touching up the sky.
The composition is pretty good. I am a bit divided by having the leading line of the huts take your eye out of the frame but I suspect you shot this at the wide end of your widest lens and there was no way of getting all the buildings in the shot without cutting off one of them.
Its effectiveness as a postcard is pretty good too since it makes me want to visit this place which I think is the goal of a postcard.

Limerick Forest Boardwalkby snafflesComment: Greetings from the critique club!
I can only imagine how pretty this place would be once the leaves come out.
The composition for this shot is ok but I find myself thinking of some different shots to try. One that sticks out in my brain the most is lying right down on the boardwalk. It also looks like you are at a corner or turn in the boardwalk. It would be cool to see both parts of the boardwalk.
Aside from that? The lettering is hard to read against the image. Minor thing to me as its a photography contest in the end but something to consider anyways.

Welcome to Utahby landon1013Comment: Greetings from the critique club!
With this image placing the sun behind the subject could work if some dodging was done on the foreground to brighten it up. The spot in the top right corner could be removed even if it was snow. Both of these steps are legal under advanced but not under basic. (In basic you could clone out the spot if it was dust however).
It appears there was an attempt to make a symmetrical image but its just off enough to bother the viewer.

The glory of the morningby quiet_observationComment: It almost looks like a drawing to me but upon closer inspection I can see that it is a silhouette of the vine. It might be a little too subtle for this crowd but kudos for trying something off the beaten path. |
