TOYComment: Laurent, firstly Congratulations on your ribbon - this one really did stand out from the rest. Re. the perceived negative comments - I want to say that you have evoked HUGE emotional response from this image. People have been moved to leave many comments during and post challenge. What an exceptional honour for you. People have invested time and thought in responding to your photo. People have also been honest enough to give a true insight into how they reacted to the image.
Without fail, the commentors that revealed that they thought she looked anorexic, have also indicated an admiration for the shot in terms of technicals etc...
To say they think she looks anorexic, does not carry the thought with it that she is ugly....
A large number of the comments around her thin body have come from males - interesting enough...?
As a woman, I am ashamed to admit, I would give a whole LOT to look this thin, but at the same time I am disturbed by her frail body and would worry if my daughter ever looked like this.
It's a disturbing image - you set out to create this look and you achieved your goal. It's an astounding image and one which will stay in people's minds for a long time. Well done.
In the past, others have asked for and received comments on "no Comment Pics" why their portraits did so badly - responses have alluded to the models' pimples, poor skin quality, simply subjective beauty and so on. Those comments have been welcomed.
So as fir3bird said - sit back and enjoy your success and stop pouting!!! This site is about sharing and learning together - you can't do that if people aren't honest.
