I LOVE Jim Carey - just an actor I've never grown out of. Him and Bill Murray are up there with my all time favs. Wickedly funny and just all round ODD. You made me smile. Hope you do well.

Weeeee - what fun. Lovely example and great capture. One of my favourites. Love the bright colour against the bland background of cityscape.

Superb: delicate and intimate. You have thought out the crop, light, processing carefully. Lovely work.

Love it - simple, clear...boxers hanging out back scream "Nirvana"? - not that clued up to assess. I like it anyway and place this in the top 5.

I'm picking this one for top 3 placing. I had one too - loved it with so much of my being. Absolutely an icon of its time and culture around the world. Lovely selection for crop and I like the saturation of green. Prime example.

Oh yes - this is very much a cultural thing - can't believe grown men (and women) are still buying this stuff and suiting up - what for I ask myself ...? perhaps I shouldn't go there? Brilliant image - simple, sophisticated and absolutely screams the challenge. 9

Laurent, firstly Congratulations on your ribbon - this one really did stand out from the rest. Re. the perceived negative comments - I want to say that you have evoked HUGE emotional response from this image. People have been moved to leave many comments during and post challenge. What an exceptional honour for you. People have invested time and thought in responding to your photo. People have also been honest enough to give a true insight into how they reacted to the image.

Without fail, the commentors that revealed that they thought she looked anorexic, have also indicated an admiration for the shot in terms of technicals etc...
To say they think she looks anorexic, does not carry the thought with it that she is ugly....
A large number of the comments around her thin body have come from males - interesting enough...?
As a woman, I am ashamed to admit, I would give a whole LOT to look this thin, but at the same time I am disturbed by her frail body and would worry if my daughter ever looked like this.
It's a disturbing image - you set out to create this look and you achieved your goal. It's an astounding image and one which will stay in people's minds for a long time. Well done.

In the past, others have asked for and received comments on "no Comment Pics" why their portraits did so badly - responses have alluded to the models' pimples, poor skin quality, simply subjective beauty and so on. Those comments have been welcomed.
So as fir3bird said - sit back and enjoy your success and stop pouting!!! This site is about sharing and learning together - you can't do that if people aren't honest.

splendid retro feel about it - like the tallow hues that lend it that found-in-an-old-shoebox-feel.

Wow - expected this to be on the top 10 page :-(...

Ironically your relatively low placing makes me (in my lower placing)feel a bit better: this was SO underrated. Looking at your comments many others saw the mastery of this shot. 7 favourites!!!!! That says it all.
