good landscape, but a bit over exposed. Maybe if you didn't have any sky in it at all it would be better ? Could be better at either dawn/ dusk with different light ?

Background seems a bit busy, with the fence and the wood pile. Maybe need to isolate the dog & pony a bit more cleanly. Also, composition seems very central - move the camera to the left a bit, and you could have had the dog on the right of the shot, looking to the left to the tree/ horse and it might have been a more interesting structure ?
