Jonathan Livingston Seagullby BobsterLobsterComment: Had to come comment on this one as soon as I saw the title. I love Richard Bach's books. Illusions is one of my favorite books of all time. Great photo too! |

Why negative?by jjbeguinComment: 9. This is my favorite "negative space" in the challenge. It really gives power to the shot. Excellent work. |

Half Empty or Not fullby TurbotechComment: 9. I kept bumping the score up on this one as I didn't like it at first glance. It grew on me and I noticed more and more technical merits. I think this will do very well in the challenge and despite the fact that something about it just doesn't appeal to me (perhaps the diagonal sland and unbalanced composition, but I'm not really sure if that's it), I hate to be the one to not acknowlege excellent work. Make a print of this, people will buy it. |

Coffee and lightby e301Comment: 9. Subtle. Elegant. Printable. Marketable. Excellent job. Interesting negative space. |

Sweetish Descentby casualguyComment: 9. This shot is very well executed. I can see this as the most marketable of all the entries. Of course it is therefore lacking on the creative side, but that's the price you pay for fame and money! Seriously though, this is beatifully composed. The time you put into the lighting is very evident and well done. Definetely make this a print if possible. Good luck in the challenge. |

Hope?by sagestudioComment: 10. The textures and colors in this are beautiful. The pose with the feet on the wall is perfect although I'm not that fond of the one arm up and one arm down. I would have preferred both one way or the other, but that's being picky I know :) I hope her name is hope and I hope this does well! Great job. This is art. |

The flyby marboComment: 9. This is just such a great macro that I had to give it a 9 even though I don't think it's the best example of fitting the topic or creativity. The pollen, oh the pollen, that's what did it for me, as well as the incredibly accurate DOF. Great capture. |

Home to roostby GordonComment: 9. This is a great shot. The exposure and DOF are just right. The wings look like paper! The only reason I'm giving this a 9 and not a 10 is that I don't really get the feeling that it was taken FOR the challenge. The negative space is definetely not really what comes to mind as the power of the shot, it's simply a well blurred background as created with the proper aperature. Still, I can see why you submitted it, the negative space is pretty interesting and I wouldn't have been able to not submit such an amazing shot either! Good luck in the challenge. |

Overcast at the Harbourby ImagineerComment: 10. I absolutely love this shot but I don't see it doing all that well in the challenge, but I hope I'm wrong. The simplicity is perfect. The lines tones and shadows are a gentle mix of pattern and chaos. An urban jungle. Oh, it could represent or be so many things. It is art and belongs in a gallery selling for a ridiculous price. |

Hopperby JackoComment: 10. I love this little guy. The antennas make this image what it is and also aid in making the negative space more interesting. I hope others can appreciate the negative space in this shot as well. Good luck in the challenge. |
