Bridge over the bayby GussiComment: Nice shot. You show too much sky, but the snow mountains look nice as does the bridge. Perhaps you could have shown more of the bridge and less sky? |

Concrete and Steelby courtenay27Comment: You show some real colour of the steel and the rust and rot that takes place under a bridge, but would it have been possible to show this with more bridge showing at the same time? It just doesn't have much "wow" to it. |

Swing Bridge on Severn Riverby mcraelComment: Wow, What a Photo! My old Stomping Grounds! Look at that snow! And so white and cold looking. . . You've captured a great scene, the red light of the snow- mobile crossing the bridge, the yellow light signal |

Saturday Night - Going Downtownby JeileenComment: Really nice colours, really like the way the bridge is lit up at night. Is there any way you could have gotten the fence and frontal debri out of the way? or would you have ended up in the water yourself? Realy good shot though. |

Down the Railby briphotoComment: nice use of black and white photography. I like the way you've captured some of the reflection of the bridge on the shiny rail. Would like to have seen a closer use of your cropping to take out the cars on the left, and it would have been REALLY nice to have SEEN a TRAIN coming towards you as I'm a train buff in N-Scale!
Good job though! |

Colorado Street Bridge - 1913by GotchaComment: Hmm. Really nice shot. Wonder if you could have gone further back for a shot of the whole side of the bridge. I really like the way you've got the iron railing running along the top. Good colour on the brickwork too. |

Boston Bridgeby mvilborgComment: Good shot of the skyline and the bridge, but the bridge sort of washes out suddenly into the darker buildings of the skyline. . . I sure like the way the buildings reflect back onto the water! |

Archesby GordonComment: Crique by Silver Fox.
Greetings Gordon.
There are two main thoughts that lead me to your photograph, the first is the blue Arches and the second is the moving figure at the end of the
photograph.
Your DOF from front to rear is excellent and in focus. You've even got the hole in the 9th square in focus as is the bright object between the 2nd and 3rd Arch. The lighting coming through the Arches is just enough to create shadows which add something mystical to your photograph.
Now, the girl in the background. Was she put there on purpose, or did she just happen to walk by at the wrong moment? Doesn't matter, for me she neither adds or takes away from the photo. I would prefer not to have her there, but would prefer to have the darkness at the "end of the tunnel".
You have excellent composition, colour is great and clarity is also there. The angle that you've taken the shot from is an excellent choice. The eyes do not wander around, but are led directly from the front arch all the way to the back (except for that little white spot)to the female figure.
Good job, Gordon! |
